This has been a very very very busy week for me, so sorry for the lack of updates! At least I turn 20 this coming Thursday! The Northern Illinois University Women's Track squad took second at this weekend's Chicagoland Championships at North Central College. The Lady Huskies won five events, finished 2nd in six events, and scored 139.5 points as a team, only 2.5 behind the winner, DePaul University! 22 colleges from the Chicagoland area competed in the meet.
An update on the Bristan Kelley football experiment, the coaching staff has moved him to defensive end from tight end. With all the injuries on the defensive line last year, the coaches wanted to see if the 6' 6" 245 pounder could play the end. Originally, I created this blog as sort of a experiment, thinking I would never have enough time or creativity to actually keep up with it. Although this blog is new, I hope to be able to provide some valuable information to the thousands of Northern Illinois fans spread across the country.
Around the nation, NIU currently has over 140,000 living alumni. With top ranked programs in business, physics, engineering, theatre, biochemistry, public finance, public administration, and nursing - a top notch Law School - and a Proton Therapy Cancer Center; NIU is entering an exciting time of growth in academics as well as athletics. NIU has established powerhouse programs not only in football , but wrestling, soccer, gymnastics, baseball, etc. We also have some exciting up-and-coming programs, including men's and women's basketball and women's track and field. With this blog, I hope to reach all alumni, prospective students, parents, and even rivals.
